Over the past few months at Krupp Kommunications, I have been exposed to all aspects of the public relations field and have loved every minute of it. I was initially unsure as to what to expect when walking into the office the first day, as I had little experience in the industry. I was immediately comforted when I met everyone in the office and the other interns; they were extremely welcoming and willing to help us learn the ins-and-outs of the office life and public relations industry.

As an intern and someone who has seen one too many movies (i.e. The Devil Wears Prada), I expected to make numerous coffee runs and partake in tedious tasks. At Krupp, that was not the case. Just within my first week, I was already sitting in on meetings with all different kinds of clients, from entertainment to health and wellness to business. By the second week, I was drafting pitches and press releases to send out. In just those ten short days, I had already learned a few semesters’ worth of information. Throughout the summer, I was encouraged to ask questions whenever I felt stuck and was lucky to receive great direction from all levels of staff, including direct mentorship with CEO and founder Heidi Krupp. As Heidi’s personal intern, I have been able to have my hand in all attributes of the firm and help out on various assignments. By the end of the internship, I had built media lists, developed multiple social media calendars, worked on press clippings, drafted multiple pitches and press releases, and assisted with the creation of Krupp’s sizzle reel.

My summer at Krupp has not only proven to be an incredible learning experience, but has confirmed that I want to work in this industry once I graduate this spring. I have completely fallen in love with this industry and enjoy waking up and coming to work. Sure, the field trips to Sirius XM and The View definitely helped a little, but the minute, daily responsibilities and the tightknit community at Krupp have influenced me even more so. I am constantly surrounded by such incredible, hard-working people whose love for what they do is not only obvious, but also infectious. I am so grateful for my internship at Krupp and for all that I have learned this summer.
